Dear Researchers,
The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK) has recently published a comprehensive guideline addressing the ethical, responsible, and reliable use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) tools in the application, evaluation, and monitoring processes of its support programs.
As artificial intelligence technologies become increasingly integrated into research activities, it is essential to uphold the principles of scientific integrity and ethical conduct. In this regard, the newly released document titled “Guideline on The Responsible and Reliable Use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) in Research Funding Processes” sets forth the key principles and rules to be followed when using GenAI tools within TÜBİTAK procedures.
The primary objectives of the guideline are to:
-
Ensure compliance with privacy and data protection regulations,
 -
Define the necessary standards regarding originality and plagiarism control,
 -
Promote responsible use and transparency in all stages of research support.

Researchers who are planning to apply for TÜBİTAK support programs, currently conducting TÜBİTAK-funded projects, or participating in evaluation processes are strongly encouraged to review this guideline carefully. Doing so will help prevent potential ethical breaches and support the smooth and fair progression of all related processes.
